A youth set himself on fire by pouring petrol at Palia police station in Lakhimpur. Please tell that the name of the young man is Shivam Gupta. Seeing the young man burning in the fire, the policemen rushed towards him to save him, but by then he had suffered more than 90 percent burns.
The youth has been referred to Lucknow Trauma Center in critical condition. According to the information, Shivam Gupta is a resident of Palia Kotwali area. He drives his home by driving a taxi driver. Shivam alleges that the Kotwals of Palia, Pulkit Sahni and Wrinkle Gupta were harassing him continuously.
According to the allegation, the policemen were extorting Rs 2500 every month from Shivam for driving a taxi. Due to the installment of the car and illegal recovery, he was not able to meet the expenses. Tired of this, Shivam reached Kotwali on Wednesday night, sprinkled petrol on himself and set it on fire.
The incident of setting fire created a sensation in the police department. A video of this has also surfaced in which a young man is surrounded by flames and a man is trying to douse the fire with a sack. Let us inform that the administration has given orders to investigate the allegations of the victim Shivam Gupta and the station in-charge of the area has been suspended.
Regarding the matter, Lakhimpur Police Chief Sanjeev Suman said that we have seen the statement of the victim. According to him, he drives a rural taxi in the area. But the local people were being harassed about the recovery of money from him. The victim said in his allegation that the local police are also involved in this. In such a situation, apart from ordering the investigation of the area, the SHO is being suspended.
Pulkit Sahni, nephew of BJP MLA Harivander Singh alias Romi Sahni, has been made an accused in this case. At present, the police is investigating the whole matter.
