In the same case, Delhi’s Patiala House Court has granted him bail on a bail bond of Rs 50,000. Along with this, the court has also ordered that they cannot leave the country without the order of the court.
In its judgment, the court said, “Voice of dissent is essential for a healthy democracy. Undoubtedly, a free voice is essential for a solid foundation of a democratic society.
The judge observed that Hinduism is one of the oldest and most tolerant religions. The followers of Hinduism are also tolerant. Hinduism is so tolerant that its followers proudly name their institution/organisation/facilities after their deities.
Let us inform that Mohammad Zubair may have got bail from the Delhi court on Friday, but Zubair will still not be able to be released from jail. In fact, other cases are also registered against him. Until and unless all the cases are heard together and bail is not granted, it is difficult for Zubair to come out of jail.
Significantly, the case against Mohammad Zubair was based on a complaint by a Twitter handle named Hanuman Bhakt. It was alleged from this handle that Zubair has intentionally insulted a Hindu god. According to the allegation, he had tweeted a suspicious picture with ulterior motives. His lawyers have said that the picture tweeted is a screenshot of the 1983 film “Kisi Se Na Kehna”.
