New Delhi (Indian Coast Guard Jobs). 10th pass people get government jobs in the Coast Guard which guards India’s maritime borders. The Indian Coast Guard, which guards the country’s maritime borders during peace time, recruits every year for posts like sailor and assistant commandant. There are three types of entry of sailors in the Coast Guard- Mechanical, Sailor GD and Sailor Domestic Branch. Age limit has been fixed for all these. Eligible candidates should be between 18 and 22 years of age. However, reserved category candidates get relaxation of 3 to 5 years. Talking about educational qualification, for the post of Sailor Mechanical, one should be 10th pass and should have a 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/Power).

For the post of Sailor DB, it is sufficient for the candidates to have passed the 10th board examination. But a different qualification has been prescribed for the post of Sailor GD. It is mandatory for them to pass the 12th board examination with Physics and Mathematics subjects. Indian Coast Guard DG: Salary of DG in Indian Coast Guard
The biggest post in the Indian Coast Guard is that of the Director General. Indian Coast Guard Director General Rakesh Pal has recently died of a heart attack (ICG DG Death). He was the 25th Director General. Let us tell you that the Director General of the Coast Guard is a 3-star rank officer. This post is equivalent to the rank of Vice Admiral of the Indian Navy, Lieutenant General of the Army and Air Marshal of the Air Force. The basic salary of the Director General of the Coast Guard is Rs 2 lakh 5 thousand (Pay Level-16) per month.
Government accommodation, government vehicles and security
The Director General, the highest officer of the Indian Coast Guard, oversees the work of all commands from the Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ) in Delhi. He is assisted by 4 Deputy Director Generals of Inspector General rank and other senior officers at the headquarters. The Director General of the Coast Guard gets many facilities including government accommodation, government vehicle, security, medical facility and an assistant.
