New Delhi. The ICC has recently released its new ODI rankings, in which Indian cricketers dominate. Even though there has been no major match last week, Indian players have maintained their place in the top rankings. Three players of Team India have managed to make it to the top 5 in the ODI batsmen’s rankings. Pakistan captain Babar Azam still holds the first position in the ODI rankings with 824 rating points. It is worth noting that Babar has not played any ODI match for the last eight months, yet he remains firmly in his number one position. On the other hand, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is in second place with 765 rating points. Rohit Sharma is getting closer to Babar Azam, but he will have to play some more big innings to reach the number one position.
Shubman Gill also made a strong hold
Indian young batsman Shubman Gill is also at third place in the ICC ODI rankings, his rating is 763. There is a slight difference in the ratings of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, due to which there can be a tough competition between the two in the rankings in the upcoming matches.
Virat Kohli’s dominance continues
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has also managed to maintain his fourth ranking. His rating is 746. Ireland’s Harry Tractor is also jointly ranked fourth with Virat Kohli with the same number of points. The Indian team will not play any ODI match this year, but these players will be seen in action in the ODI series against England early next year.
There is no major change in the top 10 rankings this week, as there have been no important ODI matches recently. However, in Test cricket, the Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is starting from 21 August. England and Sri Lanka will also face each other in Test matches. In such a situation, there is a possibility of change in the Test rankings next week.
