Chhetri used to work as a security officer in Kabul. His life was completely clouded after the Taliban captured the Afghan capital. Hundreds of people had reached the airport. Arriving in Dehradun with the family, he said that when the shots were fired, he was at the same military airport, which is near the civil airport. Chhetri was accompanied by his sister-in-law Savita Shahi, who works as an assistant to an American medical team. He had contacted the Indian Embassy in Kabul. On Savita’s request, the embassy officials agreed to accommodate five people in the Indian Air Force aircraft that arrived the next day.
Savita said that arrangements had been made to reach India, but reaching Kabul airport was the biggest challenge. His team of seven people had left the camp at 3.30 in the morning. However, before leaving the airport, he was very worried that no one would stop him. Although the situation was a bit good that day and they did not meet many people on the way. Even at the airport, there were not more people than every day. Still, till the time the Indian Air Force plane had not reached Kabul, he was very worried.
