IndiGo CEO Ronjoy Dutta has expressed regret over the issue of not allowing a differently-abled teenager to board the flight. Not only this, he has also talked about buying and giving electric wheelchairs. Indigo airline company representative had stopped Divyang Kishore from allowing him to board flights at Ranchi airport. Not only this, when objection was raised on behalf of Kishore’s family and other passengers, the airline company’s employee also argued with them. Apologizing for the incident on 7 May, the CEO of the company has said that all of us have been hurt by this incident.
Issuing a statement, he said that in the month of April alone, 75,000 differently-abled people had traveled by Indigo airline and our crew members helped them with utmost sensitivity. IndiGo CEO said, “We understand very well that parents who take care of physically challenged children are the true heroes of the society. We apologize from the bottom of our hearts to the family of the victim. According to reports, an IndiGo employee had said that Divyang Kishore could be a risk for the flight. He said that the drunken passenger and the disabled teenager are not fit for the journey.
