Bikaner. Worms in the stomach are a common problem. This problem is especially prevalent in children. To deal with this, a campaign is being run in Rajasthan. In this, school and college students will be given deworming medicine for free.
Special medicine will be given in Rajasthan to get rid of stomach worms. That too completely free of cost. This medicine will be given free of cost to children studying in all schools, colleges, Anganwadi centres, madrasas, technical institutes, higher education institutes. For this, National Deworming Day will be celebrated on 10th August. During this, children and youth in the age group of one to 19 years will be given Albendazole medicine. Additional District Collector (City) Ummed Singh Ratanu gave instructions to make preparations related to this on time and to give Albendazole medicine to every eligible person.
Medicine for children aged 1 to 19 years
Ratanu said that the district level program of Deworming Day will be organized at Lady Elgin School. Children who miss taking the medicine will be given Albendazole tablets on August 17. To make the campaign successful, instructions have been given to other departments including Health, Education, Women and Child Development to work together. The District Nodal Officer has been asked to make Albendazole tablets available and distribute them on time.
This is how it will work
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Rajesh Gupta said that ASHA workers will distribute this medicine to get rid of stomach worms in their area. A microplan has been prepared by making a list of children aged 1 to 5 years and adolescents aged 6 to 19 years who do not go to school in Anganwadi centers.
