Jaipur . Field level officers of Public Health Engineering Department and Electricity Department will work with mutual coordination and cooperation to maintain uninterrupted supply of water for the common man in the state in summer. Additional Chief Secretary Mines, Petroleum and Energy Dr. Subodh Agrawal has given instructions to this effect to all the DISCOMs and the officials of the Electricity Department. He said that pending electricity connections of the state’s drinking water schemes, tube wells, hand pumps etc. should be issued immediately, while complaints related to electricity supply should be redressed immediately. He said in the instructions that the drinking water distribution system of PHED should not be affected due to power cut.
ACS Energy Dr. Subodh Agarwal gave these instructions during the meeting of Energy Development Corporation on Wednesday. He said that during the review meeting of PHED chaired by Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday, instructions have been given that water distribution should not be interrupted anywhere due to power supply interruption. He has expounded the need for mutual coordination between all the officers, local administration and public representatives from Junior Engineer to Superintending Engineer of PHED and Electricity Department. In the event of pole falling, wire break or any other kind of electrical blockage due to storm in summer, arrangements will have to be made to fix it immediately. He said that from April to July, especially in Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer etc., due to strong winds and storms, the complaints of breaking of wires or falling of poles are common.
, ACS Dr. Aggarwal has directed all the three DISCOMs that necessary equipment and tools including additional poles, wires, transformers should be available in the office of the Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Department so that the complaints can be rectified immediately. He said that no laxity would be tolerated in this. ACS Energy Dr. Aggarwal directed the officials to be available 24 hours on mobile and asked them to be in touch with PHED, public representatives, local administration and general public. Instructions have also been given to give wide publicity to the call center and toll free numbers for the information of the general public.
Chairman Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Bhaskar A Sawant instructed the managing directors of all the three DISCOMs to monitor the arrangements themselves and shove the field officers so that uninterrupted water distribution can be done to the general public.
Sawant said that arrangements for uninterrupted supply should be ensured during the summer season. He also directed for speedy action on the cases of Sampark Portal.
