Mysuru. PM Narendra Modi performed yoga at Mysuru Palace in Karnataka on the occasion of 8th International Yoga Day today. Modi did 19 yogasanas and appealed to the people to adopt yoga for a healthy lifestyle. Modi had reached Mysuru last evening only. Along with PM Modi, school children, people of social organizations also participated in the Yoga Day program. The program started with a 1-minute prayer. After this, 19 yogasanas were done after 4 minutes of stretching. After the yoga program, Modi had breakfast with members of the royal family of Mysuru. Yoga Day was celebrated everywhere in India, people also showed enthusiasm towards yoga on this occasion abroad. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, programs were organized in 79 countries on Yoga Day.
PM Modi also addressed the nation from the lawn of Mysuru Palace. He said that I congratulate everyone on this eighth International Yoga Day. He said that today yoga is being practiced in all parts of the world. Yoga is giving assurance of a healthy life and yoga is spreading from house to house. Modi said that yoga has become a festival across the world. He said that millions of people who want inner peace are creating an atmosphere of global peace today. Similarly, Yoga can also unite people and countries. Modi said that the whole universe begins with our body and soul. The universe begins with us and yoga makes us aware of everything within us. The PM said that Yoga is for the entire humanity. Yoga can bring peace in the world. He also felicitated the United Nations on this occasion. Also said that peace through yoga is not only for the people.
As part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, this time Modi has sent all his ministers to participate in yoga programs in different parts of the country. Sarbananda Sonowal, who handled the Ministry of AYUSH among the Union Ministers, was seen practicing yoga along with the PM in Mysuru. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh did yoga with Indian Air Force personnel in Coimbatore. Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the yoga practice program in Delhi. External Affairs Minister S.K. at Purana Qila in Delhi. Jaishankar then attended the program of Modi’s minister Hardeep Puri at the Red Fort. Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy arrives at the Yoga Day event in Hyderabad. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur practiced yoga in Himachal’s Hamirpur. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju performed yoga in his home state of Arunachal Pradesh and Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey in Puri in Odisha. Apart from this, other ministers of Modi include Ashwini Vaishnav in Odisha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Piyush Goyal at Marine Drive in Mumbai, Mansukh Mandaviya at Kevadia in Gujarat, Statue of Unity, Prahlad Joshi in Hampi, Karnataka. Jyotiraditya Scindia in Gwalior, Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Fatehpur Sikri of UP and Giriraj Singh participated in the programs on Yoga Day in Haridwar.
