Moeen Ali Visa Issue: Before the start of IPL 2022, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings may face a big setback. The team’s star all-rounder may miss the first match against KKR on March 26 due to visa issue. It is being told that Moeen Ali has not yet received the visa due to non-clearance of travel documents. Moin had applied for his visa on February 28 itself.
IPL 2022 is set to begin from March 26 with the first match between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders. It is being said that Moin will get the visa by Monday and he will come to India as soon as possible. But after coming here, he will have to do regular quarantine for at least one month, due to which he can miss the first match.
Moeen Ali awaits the approval of his travel documents by the Indian High Commission in the UK.
According to Cricbuzz CSK CEO Kashi Vishwan said, “He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been continuously traveling to India but still he has not received the travel documents. We hope he joins the team soon. He (Moeen Ali) has told us that he will take the next flight after getting the papers.”
Moeen Ali is one of the retained players of Chennai Super Kings. He was retained by CSK for Rs 8 crore. Apart from Moin, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Rituraj Gaikwad were included in this list.
