The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started, in which the defending champions Chennai Super Kings have started with a win. In this match, experienced wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, who is part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, has indicated in his statement after the match that this could be his last IPL season. Karthik said that this could be his last match at Chepauk Stadium, if his team reaches the playoffs and the match is held here, then in that case he will get a chance to play on this ground. Karthik has so far been a part of 6 teams in IPL.

Dinesh Karthik, who came to the press conference after the 6-wicket defeat in the match against Chennai Super Kings, said that it was very difficult to find time to play cricket between Test matches while doing commentary. I used to work hard in whatever time I got. So I am happy that I was able to perform well in the first match. Feeling good after scoring some runs. I hope that our team will be successful in making it to the playoffs this time. Playoff matches will be played here and I can come back here for them which could be my last match here, but if I am not successful in doing so then This will be my last match at Chepauk.
Played an important role in helping RCB reach a respectable score
In its first match of the 17th season of IPL against Chennai Super Kings, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team had at one time lost 5 wickets till the score of 78. From here, Dinesh Karthik along with Anuj Rawat not only handled the innings but also played an important role in taking the team to a respectable score. Karthik played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes in 26 balls, due to which RCB was able to reach the score of 173 in 20 overs.
