IPL 2025 Mega Auction Will the mega auction end?
IPL 2025 Mega Auction: There seems to be increasing excitement about next year’s IPL. The auction for IPL is now coming closer. Meanwhile, it is not yet decided whether this time there will be a big auction or a small one i.e. mini auction. Recently, BCCI had called a meeting in Mumbai. Owners of all the IPL teams also came in it. The effort was to decide the rules for next year’s IPL auction, but it could not happen. However, BCCI did this much that it listened to everyone carefully. Now the news is coming that BCCI is moving rapidly in this direction.
There will be a mega auction for next year’s IPL
During the IPL meeting, the owners of IPL teams were not in agreement on whether a mega auction should be held or a mini auction. Some teams want that there should not be a big IPL auction, a mini auction should be held every year. At the same time, some teams want that both mini and mega auctions should be held. Now it has come to light that BCCI is not in the mood to end the mega auction. It has been learned from Cricbuzz that a mega auction will be held at the end of this year. Even if some IPL teams are not ready for it. Meanwhile, before the mega auction, it is possible that the teams can retain their 6 players. They will have to release the remaining players. Along with this, Right to Match i.e. RTM can also be given. Due to this, to a large extent, the squad of the teams will remain almost the same as it was last year.
Till now this was the rule
According to the current rules, before the mega auction, teams were allowed to retain only four players. All other players had to be released. Not only this, RTM cards were also not allowed. But now you may see some changes in it. However, understand that nothing has been confirmed yet. It is only being discussed. Until it is officially announced by the BCCI, nothing can be said for sure.
New rules may be issued soon
The auction is to be held at the end of this year before the IPL to be held in April-May next year. As soon as the rules are decided by the BCCI, the teams will have to release their players on the fixed date. After this, they will go to the mega auction to buy new players. Meanwhile, after the new rules are revealed, it will be interesting to see which players the teams retain and which ones they let go.
