Mumbai Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets, performing brilliantly in the 12th match of IPL 2025 under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. With this victory, Mumbai opened its account in the tournament, as the team had to face defeat in both the matches played earlier.
Kolkata Knight Riders scored just 116 runs while batting first, which Mumbai Indians easily achieved at the loss of 2 wickets in 12.5 overs. Ryan Riclton, the hero of victory, played a brilliant half -century innings of an unbeaten 62 runs.
Earlier, debutant Ashwini Kumar took 4 wickets in bowling for Mumbai. Apart from this, Deepak Chahar took 2 wickets, while Trent Bolt, Hardik Pandya, Vignesh and Mitchell Santner took 1-1 wickets.
KKR batsmen were seen struggling in front of Mumbai bowlers. Angaksh Raghuvanshi scored the highest 26 runs for the team, but the performance of other batsmen was disappointing. 5 players could not even touch the double figure, which failed to score a big score.
Mumbai Indians chased an easy target of 117 runs in an aggressive manner. Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Riclton together won the team.
In the 13th over, when Andre Russell came for bowling, Surya hit the first ball in the direction of midwicket. Playing the upper cut on the next ball and put another four. On the third ball, he took a single strike and rotated a strike, after which Riclton took a run on the fourth ball. After this, Surya stamped the brilliant victory of Mumbai Indians by hitting a six over the trademark fine leg off the fifth ball.
With this victory, Mumbai Indians recorded their first success in IPL 2025 and added two points to their account in the points table. The team bowlers and batsmen showed a great performance, which did not give KKR no chance.
