In the previous three seasons, no franchise had shown any interest in making Ayush a part of their team. Ayush was born on 3 December 1999 in Delhi and he started his cricket career from here. Before making his debut in IPL, Ayush got a chance to play 5 T20 matches for Delhi team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, in which he could score only 8 runs. Lucknow Super Giants had tested the talent of this player during a match played by the Indian Under-19 team. In the Under-19 Asia Cup final held in 2018, Ayush had played an innings of 52 runs in 28 balls. In this tournament, Ayush had scored 186 runs in four matches at an average of 83. In the 17th season of IPL, Ayush has so far scored 131 runs in 9 matches at an average of 26.20.

Ayush is a part of the Delhi team in domestic cricket, in which he has scored 564 runs in 9 first class matches at an average of 43.38, including 2 centuries and one half-century.
