New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore is out of the title race after losing the eliminator match of IPL. It would be wrong to hold any one RCB player responsible for the defeat against Rajasthan Royals. But if it has to be said which player disappointed the most then the first name that will come will be Glenn Maxwell. Be it batting or fielding, whenever Maxwell got a chance, he lost it with both hands.
Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 172 runs for 8 wickets against Rajasthan Royals. For RCB, Rajat Patidar scored 174, Virat Kohli scored 33 and Mahipal Lomror scored 32 runs. Cameron Green was out after scoring 27 runs, Faf du Plessis 17, Dinesh Karthik 11 and Karn Sharma was out after scoring 5 runs. But not even a single run came from Glenn Maxwell’s bat.

Glen became victim of golden duck for the fourth time
When Glenn Maxwell came to bat, RCB’s score was 97 runs for 3 wickets in 12.3 overs. If Maxwell had played as expected, RCB could have scored more than 190. But Maxwell was probably in too much hurry. As soon as he came, he tried to hit a six on the first ball and lost his wicket. RCB’s score suddenly changed from 97 runs for 2 wickets to 97 runs for 4 wickets. This was the fourth time in the season when Glenn Maxwell returned to the pavilion at 0.
Maxwell dropped an easy catch
When Glenn Maxwell got a chance to contribute to the team while fielding, he disappointed again. He dropped a simple catch of Tom Kohler-Cadmore off the ball of Yash Dayal. When Maxwell dropped the catch of Cadmore, he was playing on 11 runs and Rajasthan’s score was 35 runs without losing wickets in 4 overs.
52 runs in 10 matches
Not only this match but the entire tournament was disappointing for Glenn Maxwell. He played 10 matches in IPL 2024 and could score only 52 runs at an average of 5.77. His highest score was 28 runs. If this one innings is removed, then Maxwell scored 24 runs in 9 innings.
