Tehran. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai criticized G7 leaders for supporting Israel. He said on Tuesday that a joint statement of G7 leaders has ignored Israel’s ‘open aggression’, including illegal attacks on Iran’s ‘peaceful nuclear structures’, indiscriminate targeting on residential areas and killing Iranian citizens.
In a statement released after the ongoing G7 Summit in Canada, Canada, leaders described Iran as the ‘main source’ of regional instability and terror. He said that Iran should never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons and all sides should move towards reducing stress, including the ceasefire in the Gaza.
However, Ismail Bakai claimed that Israel launched an aggressive war against Iran without provocation and attacked its atomic sites, violating Article 2 (4) of the United Nations Charter, which prevents usage or threats on peaceful nuclear facilities.
Posting on X, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman wrote, “G7 member countries, especially three permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC), should take their legal and moral responsibility for this aggressive action against a UN member.”
The post further stated, “Israel’s war on Iran is harmful to the United Nations Charter and International Law. This is an unprecedented attack on the principles of nuclear non-proliferation system and providing legal protection from such attacks to non-nuclear states.”
According to the dues, hundreds of innocent people have been killed in the ongoing struggle with Israel. Iranian public and government facilities and people’s houses have been ruined. Hospitals and health centers have been targeted.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bag said that the United Nations Security Council and its member countries should not fail the objective of the United Nations.
He said, “UNSC should take immediate action while fulfilling its primary responsibility and prevent aggressive Israel from further torture. For regional stability, Israeli’s aggression is necessary immediately and its accountability for violation of international law is necessary.”
Describing the joint statement of the G7 countries as ‘unilateral rhetoric’, the Bakai said that G7 should leave its statement and address the source of real stress, which is ‘Israel’s aggression’.
Earlier, G7 leaders supported Israel’s security and confirmed Israel’s right to self -defense amid growing tension with Iran.
“We repeat our commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East,” in the statement of the G7 leaders.
The statement further stated, “Iran is the main source of regional instability and terror. We have been constantly clarifying that Iran can never be allowed to be made nuclear weapons. We urge that the solution of the Iranian crisis is taken towards reducing widespread stress in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza.”
The Israeli-Iran struggle entered its fifth day on Tuesday, and the tension between the two countries is increasing. The Israeli army has confirmed that several missiles from Iran were fired towards Israel, causing airstrike siren in dozens of cities in Haifa and North Israel and Golan Heights.
