Ireland Cricket Team: T20 World Cup 2024 is starting from next month on the soil of America and West Indies. Now Ireland cricket team has announced its squad for T20 World Cup 2024. Paul Sterling has been made the captain of the team. Ireland team has been placed in Group-A. Apart from Ireland, this group includes Pakistan, India, Canada and host America. The Ireland team will play its first match in the T20 World Cup against India on June 5.
Series will be held against Pakistan before T20 World Cup
The Ireland team includes experienced players like Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie and George Dockrell. Josh Little, who plays for Gujarat Titans in IPL, has also got a chance. He will play the entire season in IPL and will join the Ireland team after IPL. In the Ireland team, most of the players who took part in the series against Afghanistan have got a chance. The Irish team will play a three-match T20 series against the Pakistani team. This series will run from May 10 to May 14. Then the Ireland team will participate in the tri-series with Netherlands and Scotland.
Josh Little will join the team after IPL
Paul Stirling was made the captain of the Ireland team last year. He replaced Andrew Balbirnie. Ireland coach Henrique Malan said that this is a team that we have gradually developed and tested over the last 18 months. The skills we need to cover are there, although we have allowed Josh Little to remain in the IPL until his team finishes their campaign.
