New Delhi: Ever since the results of the Lok Sabha elections, there have been signs of discord between the BJP and the RSS. After Mohan Bhagwat’s ‘true servant’ and Indresh Kumar’s ‘ego’ statement, it seems that all is not well between the BJP and the RSS. This is the reason why speculations are rife about the relationship between the BJP and the Sangh. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has broken its silence. According to sources, on Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, the Sangh said that the RSS chief did not say anything about the government or the Prime Minister.
According to sources, RSS on Friday dismissed rumours of differences with BJP. RSS says that there are no differences between RSS and BJP. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s speech was presented in a distorted manner. He did not say anything about the government or the Prime Minister. Statements have been made by the RSS earlier also regarding Manipur. His statement was not aimed at BJP and PM Modi. He said that such comments are speculations and have been said out of context.
This statement of the Sangh is also important because a section of people including opposition leaders claim that Bhagwat’s comment is a message to the top leadership of the BJP after not performing as expected in the Lok Sabha elections, in which he said that ‘a true servant is never arrogant.’ At a program in Nagpur on Monday, Mohan Bhagwat had said, ‘A true ‘sevak’ maintains dignity. He follows dignity while working. He does not have the arrogance to say that ‘I did this work’. Only he can be called a true ‘sevak’.
Sources said, ‘There is not much difference between the speeches he (Bhagwat) gave after the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and this time’s speech. In any address, it is natural to have a reference to an important event like the national elections.’ He said, ‘But it was misinterpreted and taken out of context to create confusion. His ‘arrogance’ comment was never against Prime Minister Narendra Modi or any BJP leader.’ Sources also said that the three-day annual coordination meeting of RSS and its affiliate organizations including BJP will begin from August 31 in Palakkad district of Kerala. Senior party leaders including the BJP president are expected to attend the meeting.
