Patna: Vikassheel Insaan Party supremo Mukesh Sahni has become a prominent face of Bihar politics. His party, which was once a constituent of the NDA, is now in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal. However, for the past few days, there have been speculations in political circles that Sahni’s party may once again join the NDA. India TV spoke to Sahni on this issue as well as many other issues and he answered every question openly. During the conversation, Sahni took a different line from RJD and openly praised Prashant Kishore, the architect of ‘Jan Suraj’.
‘The party will take a decision on joining the NDA’
On the speculation of joining NDA, Mukesh Sahni told India TV, ‘First PM should give Nishad reservation. Even if they ask for life, I will give it. As far as the political decision is concerned, then our party will take a decision on it together. We cannot take the party’s decision alone.’ Going against RJD, Mukesh Sahni praised Prashant Kishore and said, ‘Whatever Prashant Kishore is saying is for the good of Bihar, people are also listening to him. If he will come on the ground in a good way, then it will be good for Bihar. First the party should be formed and first it should survive.’
‘I love the tricolour, that’s why I put up my profile pic’
On the question of putting the tricolor on his profile pic on the lines of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Sahni said, ‘The Prime Minister is the PM of the country, he can make an appeal. If he is asking for respect for the tricolor, then there is no harm in it. We also did it and in a different way but it started being discussed. I think this is not right. We feel personal pride in the tricolor. It is 15th August, so we did it. There is no need to make much of it. Right now we are standing strongly with the INDIA alliance and we are going to form the government.
‘PM had promised Nishad reservation’
Sahni said, ‘We worked with BJP in 2014, 2015 and 2020. The Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country always promised Nishad reservation, so we want reservation as wages for the work we did. As the PM of the country, it is his duty and responsibility to solve the problems in the country. If Nishads have reservation in Bengal and Delhi, then they should also get it in Bihar. This is the duty and responsibility of the Prime Minister. First he should give Nishad reservation, if they personally demand our lives in return, we will give our lives to BJP.’
‘People of Bihar are also listening to Prashant Kishore’
Speaking on Prashant Kishor, Sahni said, ‘The way Prashant Kishor is working, NDA’s vote will be his.’ RJD may consider Prashant Kishor as BJP’s B team and is upset with its party leaders joining Jan Suraj, but Mukesh Sahni praised Prashant and considered him a political force. Sahni said, ‘Prashant Kishor is talking for the betterment of Bihar. People are also listening to him. Now if he comes down to the ground in a good way, then Bihar will benefit.’
Sahni also said a big thing about Chirag Paswan
Speaking on Chirag Paswan, Mukesh Sahni said, ‘Last time in 2020, Chirag Paswan got 25 lakh votes on 135 seats. This shows that NDA suffered a lot. We were also a part of NDA at that time, and we also lost 5 seats because of Chirag Paswan. Whatever votes the Mahagathbandhan has are intact votes. It is not going to move under anyone’s influence. Whenever a third player comes, the maximum loss will be for NDA. When NDA suffers loss, it is good for us.
