However, Ratan Tata has clearly denied these allegations and said that he has no connection with cricket in any way. Ratan Tata took to his official Twitter account to clarify the ongoing claims and rumours. He expressed disappointment over false news being spread in his name and advised users not to trust WhatsApp forwards and videos unless they were posted from their official platform. He said that these viral news are completely baseless.

In his post, Ratan Tata clarified that he has never suggested or recommended the imposition of any penalty or reward on any cricketer by the International Cricket Council (ICC) or any cricket authority. He emphasized that he has completely separated from the world of cricket.
