New Delhi. The weather of Delhi-NCR is changing from scorching heat to pleasant. People have got some relief from the heat that has been going on for the last two months. The India Meteorological Institute (IMD) said on Saturday that the morning was partly cloudy and the lower temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, which gave people a lot of relief from the scorching heat. Now the question arises whether these clouds are going to bring momentary happiness or has the monsoon knocked in the national capital? Let us tell you.
According to the IMD, the monsoon may reach northwest India between June 27 and July 3. In the next 3-4 days, there are favorable conditions for the southwest monsoon to reach some more parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
IMD said, ‘Under favorable monsoon conditions, rainfall activity is likely to remain above normal in most parts of the country except the western Himalayan region and western Rajasthan. The southwest monsoon may reach the remaining parts of central India and northwest India this week. According to the Meteorological Department, at present the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) remains normal. The transition between warm El Nino and cold La Nina has become quite strong, which has also strengthened the possibility of monsoon. IMD said that La Nina conditions are expected to develop around August.
IMD said, ‘Currently, the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is running quite calm. Sea surface temperature in the equatorial western and central Pacific Ocean is above average and the temperature of the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean is below average. The new monsoon tracker said that ENSO-calm conditions are likely to continue with a strong possibility of transition to La Niña conditions around August-October 2024.’
Now let us tell you what the strengthening of La Nina will have to do with the monsoon. Actually, La Nina reduces the effect of El Nino, due to which there is more rain during the monsoon season. It is known that on Thursday, the monsoon has knocked in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, North-Western Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar. It can knock in Delhi and its surrounding areas by July 3.
