Lucknow. The NIA court in UP’s capital Lucknow has sentenced 7 ISIS terrorists to death and life imprisonment to 1 in the case of the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train blast in 2017. Another convict in this case has already been killed in the encounter. Judge Vivekananda Sharan Tripathi gave this verdict on Tuesday night. The terrorists who have been sentenced to death by the court are Mohammad Faisal, Gaus Mohammad Khan, Mohammad Azhar, Atif Muzaffar, Mohammad Danish, Syed Mir Hussain and Asif Iqbal Rocky. Mohammad Atif Irani has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. Saifullah, the convict in this case, was killed in the encounter.
In the court, the National Investigation Agency ie NIA, in its charge sheet, had accused all of them of waging war against the country, raising arms and funds for terrorist activities. The NIA had presented strong evidence against all of them in the court. According to the investigating agency, all these terrorists used to incite the youth by showing videos of Zakir Naik. The arguments of NIA were found correct by Judge Tripathi and all the 8 terrorists were convicted. After which he sentenced all the 8 terrorists in the presence of lawyers from both sides. Against this sentence, all of them can go to the High Court and then to the Supreme Court.
The incident of bomb blast in Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train took place on March 7, 2017. The train left from Bhopal in the morning. There was a blast in the train near Jabri railway station at around 9.30 am. Nine people were injured in the bomb blast. Frightened by the sound of the explosion, all the passengers jumped from the moving train. Due to which he was also hurt. The investigation of this incident was handed over to the NIA. It was learned that ISIS terrorists had planted a bomb in the train. One of the convicts Saifullah was killed in an encounter in Lucknow. The remaining 8 were arrested from Kanpur, Etawah in UP and Pipariya in Madhya Pradesh.
