New Delhi. Delhi Police is looking for 2 suspects. The matter pertains to the blast near the Israeli embassy. News of the blast was received near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi on Tuesday evening. Its investigation has been handed over to the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The police did not find any evidence of a blast from the spot, but a letter addressed to the Israeli Embassy was found. When the police searched the surrounding CCTV footage, two suspects were seen in it. The police is now searching for them. Police are now scanning more CCTV footage. So that it can be known how both the suspects reached there and left from there. According to sources, the letter received addressed to the Israeli Embassy contains a threat.
According to the information so far, Delhi Police was informed by a call from the Israeli Embassy that there was an explosion behind the embassy at around 5.45 pm on Tuesday. The security guard of the Israeli Embassy said that the sound of the explosion was heard for about 100 meters. After this, people of Special Cell, Central Intelligence Agency and other officers reached the spot. No evidence related to the bursting of firecrackers or any other kind of explosive was found at the place where the blast was said to have occurred. Nevertheless, the police have launched an investigation and security at the Israeli embassy has been tightened. The letter which was found on the spot was typed and had threatening and derogatory words written in it. Forensic investigation of the letter written in English is being conducted.
There was also a low-power blast near the Israel Embassy in Delhi in January 2021. Even then the police had received a threatening letter addressed to the Israeli Ambassador. The investigation of that case was handed over to the NIA, but till now it has not been successful in arresting anyone. It is being told that recently a death threat was given to the Israeli ambassador. After which the security of the Israeli embassy and ambassador was increased.
