The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the last eight months. The way the situation is looking at the moment, the war does not seem to be ending. Israel is preparing for a ground attack on Rafah, while many countries of the world including America are opposing this step of Israel. Meanwhile, voting took place on May 10 for Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations. 143 countries including India voted in favor while 9 countries including America and Israel voted against it. 25 countries remained absent from the UN.
Israel showed displeasure
Israel appeared to be enraged by the voting on the proposal for Palestine to become a full member. Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, expressed his displeasure and tore the UN Charter into pieces. Israeli Ambassador Erdan termed making Palestine a permanent member of the United Nations as a violation of the UN Charter. He said the decision overturned the US veto in the Security Council last month. Erdan said he was “showing a mirror” to the members present while flouting the UN Charter.
‘This voting is disastrous’
Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan said, “This day will be remembered. I want the whole world to remember this moment, this immoral act…Today I want to show you a mirror, so that you know that in reality you What damage you are doing to the UN Charter. This voting is destroying the UN Charter with your own hands.” He also accused it of opening the United Nations to “modern Nazis”, referring to Hamas.
‘UN members want this’
The Israeli Ambassador said that by making Palestine a full member, the area controlled by terrorists will be recognized. He asked in a questioning tone whether the UN members want this. Posted on Gilad Erdan “
