Israel Hamas War: The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the last six months. There are full chances of the war not stopping but of it becoming more widespread. This is because Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to intensify attacks on Rafah city in southern Gaza. Netanyahu has repeatedly said that Israel should establish ground in Rafah because it is Hamas’s last stronghold in Gaza.
‘Rafah campaign is necessary’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement that the Rafah operation was essential to victory. “It will happen,” he said without giving further details. A date has been fixed for this.” His statement came when Israeli negotiators are discussing international efforts for a ceasefire agreement with Hamas in Cairo.
America does not agree with Israel’s stance
America does not agree with this stand of Israel and this is the reason why there is bitterness in the relations between the two countries. The international community, including America, has opposed this operation, saying that the lives of approximately 14 lakh civilians taking shelter there will be in danger. Apart from this, Israel says that it has a complete plan to protect the civilians.
‘We are not going to stop’
It is also worth noting that the Israeli Army has said that it has withdrawn its troops from Khan Yunus, the southern city of Gaza. The troops have been withdrawn after completing their phase of ground offensive against Hamas fighters in Khan Yunis. Meanwhile, Israeli defense officials said troops were being mobilized from Khan Yunus as the army prepared to enter Rafah, Hamas’s last stronghold. Army chief Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi had said, “The war in Gaza continues and we are not going to stop now.”
