IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav (Telecom Minister) said on Saturday that 5G services will be rolled out in 20-25 cities and towns by the end of the year. Along with this, he said that the current prices in the country are much lower than other countries. In such a situation, data prices will remain low compared to other countries of the world.
Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the deployment of 5G will start from August-September. The minister said that India is developing 4G and 5G stacks, and is ready to strengthen its position as a trusted source in digital networks for the world. TV9 said at the Global Conference of the What India Think Today Global Summit that many countries want to give priority to 4G and 5G being developed by India.
Vaishnav said that the ministry is working on an important regulation to address the issue of unwanted calls. Under this, the KYC-identified name of any caller can be known. On 5G services, he said that I can say with confidence that by the end of the year, 5G will be rolled out in at least 20-25 cities and towns.
When asked about the pricing of 5G services, Vaishnav said that even today the data rates in India are around US$ 2, while the global average is US$ 25. He said that once it is started, it will be implemented across the country.
It is worth noting that recently the 5G auction has been approved by the cabinet. The speed of 5G will be 10 times faster than that of 4G. This will create many opportunities and boost business.
The government will auction airwaves worth around Rs 4.3 lakh crore capable of offering fifth generation or 5G telecom services, including ultra-high-speed internet, and has also given its nod for setting up captive 5G networks by tech firms.
