Indian The stock market closed with a gain today on Wednesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s index Sensex closed at 79,105 today with a gain of 0.19 percent i.e. 149 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 30 stocks of Sensex, 16 were in the green zone and 14 were in the red zone. Whereas, the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty closed at 24,143 today with a gain of 0.02 percent i.e. 4.75 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 50 stocks of Nifty, 24 were in the green zone and 26 were in the red zone.
These stocks fell
At the time of market closing, the biggest losers in the Nifty pack were Divis Labs (4.03%), Hero Motocorp (3.17%), Coal India (3%), UltraTech Cement (2.35%) and Dr. Reddy’s (2.14%). On the other hand, the biggest gainers were TCS (2.29%), HCL Tech (1.96%), Tech Mahindra (1.47%), Infosys (1.25%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.16%).
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, the biggest decline was recorded in Nifty Metal by 1.26 percent, Nifty Media by 1.06 percent, Nifty Metal by 1.26 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.81 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.39 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.40 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.48 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.88 percent, Nifty Oil & Gas by 0.76 percent, Nifty Midsmall Healthcare by 0.42 percent. On the other hand, Nifty Consumer Durables rose by 0.11 percent, Nifty IT by 1.58 percent and Nifty Auto by 0.05 percent.
