Jodhpur. It was summer afternoon, but there was a stir in the revenue camp of Gram Panchayat Narnadi. It had become a center of expectations under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwara 2025. At the same time, a man was seen walking slowly in the crowd. Slow but confident steps. These were Sohanlal Jat, residents of village Narnadi, who are physically disabled and have been carrying the burden of a simple mistake for the last 40 years.
Actually, his name in the revenue records was recorded in place of “Sohanlal” “Sohanram”. This mistake may seem small to hear, but when your identity is wrong in the documents, then take advantage of government schemes or to get some work related to the land, trouble arises at every turn. Due to physical disability, he could not reach the office to fix this mistake, but when the office himself came to their village, a ray of hope awake.
Sohanlal went to the camp and applied to improve the name. He spoke in a slow voice, but it had a slight flame of years and a new hope. Revenue officials posted in the camp took his point seriously and on the same day, without any delay, Raj registered a nomination on the SSP portal. Within a few hours, he was also given a copy of the revised Jamabandi. That moment was probably like a new life for Sohanlal. When the year -old mistake was cured, the satisfaction on his face cannot be narrated in words.
He said without hiding his feelings – “Now my name looks my own, as if I have got my identity back.” This incident made not only Sohanlal, but the entire village realizes that when the government is sensitive and the administration is ready, then the wind of change reaches every dhani-dhani. The villagers appreciated this fortnight and public welfare camps under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
“My Story – Meri Zubani” is not just a matter of improvement, it is a story of the trust that was slowly losing from the system – and returned to this camp again. This story reminds us that when the intention is of public service, the system can also hear the voice of the weakest.
