New Delhi. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police has been deployed in the Kedarnath temple complex for security and crowd management following the massive influx of pilgrims to the Chardham. On the request of the district administration, ITBP teams at various places are keeping a strict vigil on the movement of passengers from the point of view of security, so that there is no problem.
Let us tell you that at present, more than 20,000 devotees are visiting the temple in a day. Apart from this, there is a crowd of devotees at places like Sonprayag, Ukhimath and Kedarnath.
ITBP PRO Vivek Pandey has said, in the Himalayan region, the force has deployed its security personnel in Kedar valley and temple premises on the request of the district administration.
He further added, apart from security, crowd management becomes an important task when the influx of pilgrims is so high.
The Himalayan Border Security Force has deployed its disaster management teams as well as medical teams with oxygen cylinders in the area. Apart from this, Pandey said that with the help of the state administration, practice of medical practice in emergency and evacuation of people if needed is being done.
Officials of the local civil administration have said, there have been some incidents of stampedes at religious places in the past and it has been observed that a large number of pilgrims are visiting religious places after almost two years of the Covid-induced lockdown.
Kedarnath temple was opened on 6th May and till now more than 1.30 lakh pilgrims have visited Kedarnath temple.
In Badrinath temple also, ITBP teams are helping the temple and civil administration for smooth conduct of ‘darshan’ and management of the pilgrim rush.
Since COVID was going on for the last two years, it was not allowed to come here, that is why this year Char Dham Yatra is witnessing an unprecedented rush of pilgrims.
