Pradeep Singh Kharola is the Chairman and Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). Now he has been given additional charge of National Testing Agency. NTA has to conduct NEET exam and this responsibility will remain on Pradeep Singh Kharola till the appointment of a new director.
Kharola has handled the work of Air India
Pradeep Singh Kharola has handled the work of Air India. He had handled this responsibility before the company became private. He has also handled the responsibility of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC). Kharola, a 1985 batch IAS officer, hails from Karnataka. He became the chief advisor to the Karnataka Chief Minister in 2012-13. He has also been the head of Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation. This institution provides basic things like roads and water in cities by raising funds from foreign investors.
Award received in 2012 and 2013
62-year-old Kharola has worked as the Joint Secretary of the National Administrative Reforms Commission. He has worked extensively in urban administration, urban public transport and policy making. In 2000, he brought the Bangalore city bus service from loss to profit. In 2012, he also received the National Award for e-governance. In 2013, he also received the Prime Minister’s Outstanding Public Administration Award.
Management course done from Philippines
Kharola is a native of Uttarakhand and he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indore University in 1982. In 1984, he obtained a PG degree in Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi. He also topped here. He has also obtained a Masters in Development Management degree from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines.
