Meanwhile, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara targeted Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and said that on one hand the people of the state are suffering due to power cuts and non-supply of drinking water, on the other hand the Chief Minister of the state is busy campaigning in other states instead of finding a solution to overcome this crisis. He said that despite the scorching heat, the state government is not able to provide electricity and drinking water to the people, due to which people in the rural areas of the state have to walk miles for drinking water.
The Congress leader claimed, ‘City dwellers are spending huge amounts of money to quench their thirst by buying water tankers. Due to the government’s negligence, there has been a severe power crisis in the state and the government is undeclaredly cutting power for two to four hours in the state capital, while in other cities and rural areas of the state, people are suffering from heat due to lack of electricity for several hours.’
Disaster Management Department spokesperson Radheshyam Sharma said that the maximum temperature is likely to increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state during the next three days. There is a strong possibility of the ongoing heatwave and hot nights in the state continuing for the next three-four days. He said that the maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in some parts of eastern Rajasthan from May 29 and in some parts of western Rajasthan from May 30.
