Jaipur, US Vice President James David (JD) Vance is visiting India on 21 April. Preparations are being made loudly in Jaipur to welcome him. He will be on a four -day visit to India, during which he will also visit ‘Pink City’.
Vice President Vance is currently with his family in Italy and will reach India on Monday (April 21). He will first meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, after which he will leave for Jaipur the same evening. His red carpet will be welcomed at Jaipur Airport.
Vance will be in Jaipur from 21 to 24 April. On the morning of 22 April, he will visit the historic Amer Fort, where he will be welcomed in a traditional Rajasthani style.
Vance and his family will be dressed in Jodhpuri Safa and Rajasthani puppet shows, folk dances, traditional food and cultural programs will be shown.
After this, he will participate in the US-India Business Summit to be held at Rajasthan International Center and will share his vision on the business relations of the two countries.
On 23 April, he will go to Agra by a special aircraft of the US Air Force and see the Taj Mahal. After staying there for about three hours, he will return to Jaipur again in the afternoon and will also see Jaipur City Palace on the same day.
They will leave for Washington DC at 6:30 am on 24 April.
Strong security arrangements have been made in Jaipur, including officers in the plain clothes of the Rajasthan Police, a convoy of 20 vehicles and special ambulances. The Amer Fort will be closed to the general public for two and a half hours during his visit to Vance.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will receive Vance in Delhi and can also join him in a trip to Amer Fort.
After the Business Summit, Vice President Vance will also meet Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Governor Haribhau Bagde.
Vance will also be accompanied by his wife Usha, children Ivan, Vivek and Mirabel and other senior American officials.
This is the first time in the last 13 years that an US Vice President is visiting India. Earlier in 2013 Joe Biden came to India.
