Weather Rain Update: Monsoon is at its peak. Heavy rains are falling from the mountains to the plains. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in many states across the country in the coming days. Rain alert has been issued in many states including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. In Delhi, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms.
In Kerala, the IMD has issued an orange alert predicting heavy and widespread rains on August 4. The weather department said that rains are likely to continue in the state throughout the week. This comes when the state’s Wayanad district is grappling with the devastation caused by landslides that have claimed over 300 lives.

How will the weather be from the mountains to UP-Bihar
While cloudbursts have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the coming days. In Uttarakhand, the IMD has issued an orange alert till August 8, indicating heavy rains. The IMD has said that many states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa are likely to receive very heavy rains for the next two to three days.
The weather department has also issued an orange alert for parts of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, predicting very heavy rains in the region. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued an orange alert for sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar till August 6. The weather department has also made similar predictions for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, heavy rains are possible in Sikkim, Assam, South Bihar, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka. West Bengal, Telangana, Vidarbha, Gujarat, East Rajasthan, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places. Light rain is possible in the rest of the country.
