Security forces launched a search operation after the presence of terrorists in Sopore. Traffic was brought to a standstill for some time, including the closure of access roads, during a massive campaign launched on Sunday. The soldiers of 22 RR of Army, Sopore Police and 197 Battalion of CRPF were present in the joint team. The joint team searched every nook and corner of the fruit market, Sopore. During this all entry and exit routes were sealed. A senior police officer said that a search operation was launched in the area after receiving information about suspicious activity.
Two OGWs arrested from Lolab, sent to jail on court orders
Police arrested two OGWs from Lolab in Kupwara district. They have been identified as Rashid Ahmad Pir of Tekipora in Lolab and Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Shaat Mukam. During the investigation, posters, photos, videos and details of conversations with active terrorists were recovered from their mobile phones.
Both the countries were involved in the activities as well as trying to join the terrorist organization. Along with providing help to the terrorists operating in the area, they were engaged in a conspiracy to revive terrorism. They came under the scanner of security forces for spreading terrorism-related activities on social media.
Arrest in another case as soon as the journalist is released on bail
A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) granted bail to journalist Fahad Shah on Saturday. According to the police, the journalist was wanted in three cases of glorifying terrorism and spreading fake news. In these cases, the Kashmir Police had tweeted on February 5.
A day later, police arrested Fahad Shah for glorifying terrorism, spreading fake news and creating law and order situation. Shortly after being released on bail, Fahad was arrested in another case.
