New Delhi. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Voting will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will be held for the first phase on September 18, for the second phase on September 25 and for the third phase on October 1. While in Haryana, voting will be held in a single phase on October 1. The results of the elections of both the states will be announced on October 4.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 74 are in general, 7 in SC and 9 in ST category. This time there will be a total of 87.09 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir in the assembly elections, out of which 44.46 lakh are men, 42.62 lakh are women. There are 20.7 lakh young voters here. 3.71 lakh voters will vote for the first time in this election. The voter list of Jammu and Kashmir will be published on August 20. Assembly elections are going to be held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370. Earlier, assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2014.

On the other hand, there are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana, out of which 73 are general, 17 are SC. There will be a total of 2.01 crore voters in this assembly election in Haryana, out of which 1.06 crore are men, 0.95 crore are women. 4.52 lakh voters will vote for the first time in this election. There are 40.95 lakh young voters here. The voter list of Haryana will be published on 27 August 2024. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that political parties in Jammu and Kashmir had requested that their candidates and party officials should all get equal security, so that no one is given less and no one is given more security. We have given guidelines in this regard that all candidates should get security.
