JDU Now Wants This From Modi Govt: Now to save the increased reservation, Nitish Kumar’s JDU has put forward a demand in front of Modi government, know how the court will not be able to overturn the law by putting it in the ninth schedule?, JDU of Nitish Kumar now wants Bihar quota hike law to be put in the 9th schedule of constitution by Modi govt

New Delhi. After getting a special package of about 64000 crores in the budget for Bihar, Nitish Kumar’s party JDU has now placed a new demand before the Modi government at the center. JDU demands that the law that was passed by the assembly to increase reservation in Bihar after the caste survey, should be included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution by the Modi government. By including it in the Ninth Schedule, judicial review of any law is not possible. So far 284 laws have been included in the Ninth Schedule.

KC Tyagi is a senior JDU leader and the party’s national spokesperson. He is also considered close to Nitish Kumar.

JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi, while talking to English newspaper Indian Express, said that we have limited options. The central government should consider our demand. He said that things need to be seen in a broader context. KC Tyagi said that JDU does not believe in the politics of pressure. The special thing is that the Modi government is also going to come under pressure from JDU on the issue of including the law increasing reservation in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. If the government does not try to save this increased reservation move, then it may be branded as anti-OBC.

When Nitish Kumar was running the Mahayuti government with Congress and RJD in Bihar, he had conducted a caste survey. After the results of this survey came out, Nitish Kumar passed a law in the Bihar Assembly to increase reservation from 50 to 65 percent. This law was stayed by the Patna High Court. The Nitish Kumar government approached the Supreme Court against the stay of the Patna High Court, but the country’s top court gave a setback on Monday by refusing to stay the order of the Patna High Court. In fact, the Supreme Court has said in many of its decisions that more than 50 percent reservation cannot be given. The Supreme Court had earlier also stayed the attempts to provide reservation other than this in many states.
