Giridih. A large cloth shop caught fire in Pachamba area of Giridih city of Jharkhand. A woman and the girl are trapped between the flames, which are trying to take out. This shop called “Khushi Mart” is located in a three -storey building in Marwari locality. The shop runs on the lower floor, while the shop owner Dinesh Dalmia and his family live on the two floors above. It was told that the flames started rising from the shop at around 3 pm on Monday. People living on the upper floor of the shop came to know about this when the smoke’s bubble reached their rooms. His screams woke up to the surrounding people and then started an attempt to extinguish the fire. Four of the six people in the house were evacuated safely, but a woman and a girl were stuck.
The clothes shop in the fire is completely destroyed. The precious items of the house on the upper floor have also been destroyed. On receiving the information, the teams of Pachamba police station and fire brigade have reached the spot. The fire is so frightening that many fire engines have been installed in extinguishing it. Five hours after the accident, it could not be controlled.
DSP Kausar Ali, Sadar Sub Divisional Magistrate Yashwant Srikanth Visupate and police in -charge Rajiv Kumar and other officers are present at the scene. Relief and rescue operations are going on. Barricading has been done in terms of security in the area and people have been appealed to maintain safe distance.
Nine people have died in two major incidents of fire during the last 40 days in Jharkhand. On March 10, five people, including three children, were killed in a fierce fire in the cracker shop in Goddman market under Garhwa district. On March 17, four children lost their lives due to a fire in a house in Geethali village of Jagannathpur police station area under West Singhbhum district.
