Petrol prices have seen an increase in the past few days. Meanwhile, at the time of Diwali, the Central Government and the State Governments reduced the prices of petrol and diesel at their own level to give relief to the public. Now
In Jharkhand, the Hemant Soren government on its second anniversary, while making a big announcement to give relief to the common man from the high prices of petrol, said that the state government would give petrol cheaper by Rs 25 per liter to poor bikers and scooter people. According to this announcement, ration card holder customers can take this benefit on a maximum of 10 liters of petrol per month. Although they will not get this benefit directly, they will have to pay the full price at the petrol pump and the state government will send the subsidy amount to the account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). According to the data, the total number of ration card holders in Jharkhand is around 59 lakhs.
Let us tell you that the Chief Minister’s Office tweeted about this, “The price of petrol-diesel is increasing continuously, due to which the poor and middle class people are the most affected. Therefore, the government will give a relief of ₹ 25 per liter on petrol for two wheelers from the state level, its benefit will start from 26 January 2022. So the Jharkhand government will transfer Rs 25 per liter i.e. Rs 250 cash to their account on petrol up to 10 liters per month. Overall, the poor will get a maximum benefit of Rs 250 per month for filling petrol in the scooter/bike.
Significantly, it is feared that after this decision of the Jharkhand government, such a demand may arise in some other states of the country. With this decision, the Jharkhand government tried to reach out to those weaker sections who use two wheelers more. Let us tell you that the bet of giving a big relief of Rs 25 per liter can prove to be a trump card for the Hemant Soren government in the elections as well.
