Howrah-Mumbai Mail Express derailed

A train accident occurred in Chakradharpur, Jharkhand on Tuesday morning. Train number- 12810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail Express has derailed near Barabambo railway station of Chakradharpur railway division. 18 coaches of the train derailed. So far two passengers have been confirmed dead in the accident, while more than 150 people are reported to be injured. The injured passengers have been admitted to RIMS Hospital in Ranchi and government and private hospitals around Chakradharpur. After the accident, the railways have issued helpline numbers.

How did the accident happen?

It is being told that a goods train derailed here two days ago, whose wagons were still on the track. Mumbai Mail Express was coming from another track and collided with the coaches already lying on the track. After this accident, 18 bogies derailed. Relief and rescue work is being done on the spot. This accident happened near pole number 219 near Barabambo railway station of Chakradharpur railway division. After the accident, the movement of trains on Howrah-Mumbai railway line has been stopped.

The Howrah-Mumbai train reached Tatanagar at 02:37 on Monday night instead of 11:02. After a halt of two minutes here, it left for the next station Chakradharpur, but before the train could reach its next station, it met with an accident near Barabamboo railway station at 03:45.
