Sahibganj There has been a fierce collision between two freight trains in Barhet in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand at around 4 am on Tuesday. Two people aboard the engine of the train were killed in the accident, while four other personnel were injured.
After the accident, a fierce fire broke out in both the goods trains, which the firefighters are busy in extinguishing. A person is still stuck in the engine of the train, which is being tried to take out. The accident took place near the NTPC gate in Barhet.
It was reported that a freight train was already standing near the gate. The goods train coming from the other side hit it. The collision was so strong that the fire broke out in the engine and coal -laden bogie. Railway administration and police officials reached the spot with the rescue team as soon as they got information about the accident.
As being mentioned, seven people were riding in a bogie bogie with a collision goods train. Two of these people died, while four other injured have been removed and admitted to the Government Hospital in Barhet. The condition of two of these people is said to be serious.
Among the injured, a loco pilot Jitendra Kumar said that there was a collision due to lack of estimates about the goods train standing on the track. At present, no information or information has been officially shared by the Railways or NTPC about the accident.
From this railway line, coal is supplied to NTPC Farakka from Lalmatia Coal Project located in Godda district. Only goods trains operate on this line. There have been many accidents on this line before. In October 2024, criminal elements exploded NTPC’s Farakka-Lalmatia railway track, crashed a goods train.
