The company said in a statement, per capita data consumption has increased to 30.3 GB per month i.e. more than 1 GB per day. With this it has become the world’s largest company in terms of data traffic. According to the June quarter data of Reliance JIO, data consumption grew by 32.8 percent to 44 billion gigabytes (GB) which was 33.2 billion GB in the same quarter last year.
The number of customers reached 49 crores
The statement said that the total number of customers of the company has reached about 49 crores, which includes 13 crore 5G users. With this, Jio has become the largest company in terms of 5G services, excluding China. Reliance Jio Infocom Chairman Akash M Ambani said, quality high coverage, affordable internet is the backbone of Digital India and Jio is proud to contribute to it. Our new ‘prepaid plans’ will promote innovation and sustainable development in the field of 5G and AI (artificial intelligence). With a ‘customer first’ approach, Jio will further strengthen its leadership position in the market on the basis of its better network and new service offers.
Voice calling also reached record levels
Voice calling on the company’s network reached a record level of 1,420 billion minutes in the June quarter of the current financial year, which is six percent more than the same period last year.
