Jobs were distributed in cash, now big officers will rot in jail, judge said - interview was made a joke

Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav is accused of taking land in exchange for jobs. ED is investigating the entire case. But a similar case has come to light in Assam. Where the then Chairman of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and 31 people together played with the lives of the youth. They distributed jobs in exchange for money. Now the court has convicted all these people and sentenced them. This decision may perhaps teach others how costly playing with the lives of children can be.

The case is of 2017. A complaint was lodged against many people including former Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul. It was alleged that these people distributed jobs in exchange for money in the appointment of Agriculture Development Officers (ADO). Due to this, deserving candidates did not get a chance. The police investigated and found the involvement of 44 people. These included four members and one employee of Assam Public Service Commission, three middlemen and 36 candidates.

11 acquitted due to lack of evidence
The case was heard in the court of Special Judge Dipankar Thakuria. He found the then chairman of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and 31 people guilty in the case. 11 others were acquitted due to lack of evidence, while a member of APSC, Binita Riyanjha became a government witness. That is why she was saved. Binita Riyanjha exposed all these people. She told the court how these people played the game. They manipulated the marks. Those acquitted include an employee of APSC, three middlemen and seven candidates.

Decision on punishment today…
The judge said that the decision on the punishment to be given to the culprits will be taken later. He immediately ordered the judicial custody of all the culprits, after which all 32 convicts were sent to Guwahati Central Jail. The judge also said that the 7 candidates who have been acquitted were also not clean, but the evidence is not enough to prove the allegations leveled against them, so they have been given the benefit of the doubt. The case was registered after a candidate who failed to get the job filed a complaint, in which it was alleged that the marks of other candidates were increased by taking money. The judge said that the entire interview process was a joke.
