Vaishali. As soon as summer comes, you will see pots everywhere, but do you remember the earlier times? There were also clay jars. Especially during travel, everyone used to carry water jugs in trains and buses. Changing times first increased the trend of campers and now sealed water bottles are easily available everywhere. But even amidst this change, there are some people who are preserving traditional things and art.
One of them is 45-year-old Neelam and her family, resident of Bagamalli, Hajipur city of Vaishali district. This family has been making earthen jars and pots for the last 62 years. Neelam is carrying forward her ancestral business. He is expert in making jugs ranging from 4 to 20 litres. Even before the start of summer, the demand for jugs increases significantly. Water from jug is also considered beneficial for health.

Neelam Devi told Local 18 that her ancestors also used to do the same thing. From his father he learned everything from making clay jars to making toys. Took over this business after father’s death. This ancestral business of the family has been flourishing for the last six decades. Neelam told that we make jugs ranging from 4 liters to 20 litres. Their price ranges from Rs 120 to Rs 500. As soon as the goods are made, they are sold immediately. 5 truckloads of jugs are consumed in 7 months. Apart from this, other utensils are also prepared from clay. Neelam told that she runs her household only with the income earned from clay utensils. She says that it was my first shop in Hajipur city and maximum sales come from that shop.
Eating in earthen pots is rich in nutrients.
PAC in-charge of Rajapakar, Dr. Satish Kumar said that drinking water from an earthen pot is very beneficial. In summer, people drink water from the refrigerator; drinking water from a jug is more beneficial than that. Nutrients like iron, sulphur, calcium, magnesium are present in food prepared in earthen pots. Which is beneficial for the body. The pH value of the earthen pot also remains the same. Therefore, people fall ill less by eating or drinking its water. It provides relief to people in the scorching heat.
