London. Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been released from British prison. Julian Assange is accused of publishing secret US military records in 2010 and 2011. The US had once declared him an enemy of the country and declared him the most wanted criminal. In 2019, Assange was convicted in 18 cases by the US Federal Grand Jury. He would have been sentenced to 175 years in these cases. In such a situation, the question arises that how did Assange get free after spending only 5 years in British prison.
Let us tell you that Assange was accused of conspiring to obtain and disclose intelligence related to US national security. However, now Assange has struck a deal with the US Justice Department, after which Assange breathed a sigh of freedom. As per the terms of this deal, Assange will confess his crime in this case.

In this case, Assange can be sentenced to a maximum of 62 months in prison. However, Wikileaks chief Assange has already spent 5 years in a British prison and according to this deal, 60 months will be deducted from this sentence. In such a situation, Assange will be completely free after reaching America and can then return to his native country Australia.
Wikileaks said in a post on social media platform X in the early hours of Wednesday, ‘Julian Assange has been released. He came out of Belmarsh Maximum Security Jail (London) on the morning of June 24 after spending 1901 days there. The High Court of London granted him bail, he has boarded a plane and left Britain.’

Reacting to the development, his wife Stella Assange said, “During the years of Julian’s imprisonment and persecution, an incredible movement arose. People from all walks of life from all over the world supported not only Julian, but also his ideas: the idea of truth and justice.”
