Washington: Kamala Harris’ candidacy from the Democratic Party for the US Presidential Election 2024 is now even more confirmed. Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed her nomination for the post of President from the Democratic Party, as she emerged as the only candidate to qualify for the ‘virtual roll call’ vote from the party’s delegates from across the country. The Democratic Party announced on Tuesday night after the official deadline that 3,923 delegates from across the country had applied for Harris’ nomination from the Democratic Party and she received the support of 99 percent of the participating delegates. In such a situation, now she will face former US President Donald Trump of the Republican Party.
In a joint statement, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Jaime Harrison and Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) Chair Minnie Moore said that no other candidate could meet the threshold of 300 delegate signatures to qualify for the ballot. The statement said that voting on the ‘virtual roll call’ will begin on August 1 and end on August 5. This is the process through which Harris will officially become the Democratic candidate. Meanwhile, Harris has challenged her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, to a debate, asking him to say whatever he has to say in front of her.
Harris’s big statement after nomination was confirmed
Addressing an election rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Harris (59) said the nature of presidential elections has changed since she joined the race. Harris officially announced her candidacy when incumbent President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the race for a second term on July 20. Harris said, “The tide is changing. There are signs that Donald Trump is realizing this. You must have seen last week, he distanced himself from the debate to be held in September, which he had earlier agreed to.” She told the cheering crowd, “Donald, I hope you will reconsider meeting me on the debate stage, because if you have something to say, say it in front of me.”
Harris rejected the allegations of Trump team
According to Harris’ campaign team, about 10,000 people attended her rally in the important electoral ground Atlanta. Harris said, “The road to the White House goes straight through this state and all of you helped us win in 2020 and we are going to do it again in 2024.” At the same time, Trump’s campaign team has released a new advertisement in important electoral states, alleging that “dangerously liberal” Kamala Harris failed to stop the infiltration of illegal immigrants on the southern border of America. However, Harris’ campaign team has rejected this allegation.

Daniel Alvarez, a senior adviser to Trump’s campaign team, said, “Kamala Harris’s failure has made America less safe. Migrant crime has increased, terrorists have entered the country through the open border, human trafficking is affecting every state. Harris is dangerously liberal and Americans are paying the price for it.” Trump’s campaign team said, “Trump created the most secure border in the history of our country. But in just a few years, Kamala Harris opened the doors to millions of illegal immigrants.”
