An aide to Harris said that Harris will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House this week and tell him that the time has come to end the war. However, she will not be able to preside over the joint session of the US Congress to be addressed by Netanyahu.
An aide to Harris, the likely presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, told PTI, “The Vice President is meeting Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House this week. This meeting will be separate from the meeting planned by President Biden. The Vice President is going to Indianapolis on July 24 for a pre-scheduled program and she will not be able to attend Prime Minister Netanyahu’s pre-scheduled address to the joint session of Congress.” Harris’s aide said, “It is expected that the Vice President will tell Netanyahu that the time has come to end the war in such a way that Israel is safe, all hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza ends and the people of Palestine can enjoy their right to dignity, freedom and self-determination.”
