New Delhi. Congress on Sunday released another list of 10 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections including Delhi and Punjab, in which former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been given the ticket from Jalandhar (SC) Lok Sabha seat of the state.
According to the list, the party has fielded experienced leader JP Aggarwal from Chandni Chowk seat of the national capital Delhi while Young Turk Kanhaiya Kumar has been fielded from North East Delhi seat. Kumar will contest against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari. The ruling party has canceled the tickets of all Delhi MPs except Tiwari. Congress has fielded former MP Udit Raj from North West Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
In Punjab, Congress has given ticket to MPs Gurjit Singh Aujla from Amritsar, while Amar Singh has been given ticket from Fatehgarh Sahib reserved Lok Sabha seat. Congress has given ticket to former MP Dharamveer Gandhi from Patiala. A few days ago, Gandhi had left the membership of Aam Aadmi Party and joined Congress.
Congress’ All India Kisan Wing President Sukhpal Singh Khaira has been made the candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat, while Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu has been fielded from Bathinda, from where former Union Minister and SAD leader Harsirat Kaur Badal is the MP.
The party has given ticket to Ujjwal Revati Raman Singh from Allahabad Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Congress has also announced the names of 75 candidates for the assembly elections to be held in Odisha.
Ujjwal Raman Singh faces Neeraj Tripathi
Raman Singh will face Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Neeraj Tripathi. Ujjwal Raman Singh, son of former princely state of Prayagraj ‘Baraon’ chief and senior socialist leader Kunwar Revati Raman Singh, has recently joined Congress. Before this, he was in the Samajwadi Party and was an MLA from his father’s traditional Karchana seat and a minister in the government led by former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He was defeated in the 2022 assembly elections. Voting will be held in Allahabad in the sixth phase on May 25.
Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress and Trinamool Congress, the main constituents of the group of opposition parties, are contesting the elections together in Uttar Pradesh, where Congress is contesting on 17 seats, SP is contesting on 62 seats and Trinamool Congress is contesting on one seat in Bhadohi. Is fighting. In Allahabad parliamentary constituency, Ujjwal Raman Singh will face Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Neeraj Tripathi. Neeraj Tripathi is the son of late Kesrinath Tripathi, former Governor of West Bengal and former Assembly Speaker of Uttar Pradesh.
