The echo of CM Yogi’s order will be heard in Parliament as well
The budget session of Parliament is going to be special this time because the opposition has made full preparations to corner the government. Before the budget session starting on Monday, July 22, an all-party meeting was held on Sunday to discuss various issues between the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties. In this traditional meeting, while the opposition raised the nameplate controversy in UP’s Kanwar Yatra, the NDA allies are also angry over the UP government’s Hindutva agenda regarding the Kanwar Yatra nameplate controversy. The opposition is going to raise this issue prominently in Parliament.
Barring the Trinamool Congress (TMC), all opposition parties were present at the meeting for the upcoming budget session of Parliament and urged the government to ensure that they are allowed to raise their issues in Parliament. Congress leaders including Jairam Ramesh and K Suresh pressed for the appointment of a Deputy Speaker from the opposition camp in the Lok Sabha. YSR Congress, Janata Dal (United) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) strongly advocated special category status for Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha respectively.
Opposition will launch a strong attack on the Kanwar Yatra controversy
Another issue that figured prominently during the meeting was the controversy surrounding the annual pilgrimage of devotees of Lord Shiva, i.e. Kanwar Yatra. Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav reportedly raised the issue of the Yogi government’s order directing shopkeepers to display their names outside their shops on the Kanwar Yatra route. The controversy began when the Uttar Pradesh government issued an order requiring food establishments on the Kanwar Yatra route to display the names of their owners.
This move, aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability, has been seen by many as an indirect attempt to identify and potentially target Muslim-owned businesses. Politics is at its peak over this order of the Yogi government.
Akhilesh Yadav said- the public will teach them
On the instructions to put ‘name-plates’ on food shops on Kanwar routes in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “…these (BJP) are people who spread hatred… they will not succeed with this… what can be expected from those who have just lost power… the people of Uttar Pradesh will reduce them (BJP) to nothing.”
The issue of special state will also be raised in the Parliament
The all-party meeting held on Sunday was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. In the meeting, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh claimed that TDP did not demand special status for Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that BJP’s ally JDU has raised the issue of special status for Bihar.
Six bills are expected to be introduced
Let us tell you that the Parliament session is starting from Monday and there will be a total of 19 meetings in this session which will run till August 12. The government is expected to introduce six bills in this session, including a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act and will also get Parliament’s approval for the budget of Jammu and Kashmir. Which is under central rule. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will also present the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday and will present the Union Budget on Tuesday.
