Even after the High Court’s decision in Karnataka, the hijab controversy has not ended. During the board examinations that began on Monday, a girl student in Hubli district had reached school wearing a hijab. The girl was stopped at the gate. Later, he was allowed to take the exam only after he came wearing the school uniform. Officials said the student was given extra time to come off the burqa and change clothes.
According to a report in ndtv.com, a senior officer Dharwad Mohan Kumar said that the student had come to take the examination in a silver dress. He did not follow the uniform code and was wearing a burqa. He was informed about the order of the High Court and asked to comply. Later she comes changing clothes and is giving her exam.
At the same time, in a similar incident in Bagalkot district, a schoolgirl skipped the exam when she was asked to change the burqa. Regarding the examination, the ministers of Karnataka had said about the hijab that those who violate the decision of the High Court during the examination will not get entry in the school and action will be taken against them.
State Home Minister Araga Gyanendra had said that whoever violates the rule will face action. We will not compromise on this. Everyone should follow the High Court order and students should take the exam without hijab.
