New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has announced the names of the chairpersons of important committees related to the House. According to tradition, senior Congress MP KC Venugopal has been appointed as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which is considered the most important committee in the parliamentary system. The tenure of this committee will end on April 30, 2025. Let us tell you that the Public Accounts Committee is considered the most important and influential committee in the parliamentary system.
These 22 MPs were included in the committee
This committee comprises 15 MPs from Lok Sabha and 7 MPs from Rajya Sabha, i.e. a total of 22 MPs including the chairman. Apart from KC Venugopal, TR Balu, Nishikant Dubey, Jagdambika Pal, Jai Prakash, Ravi Shankar Prasad, CM Ramesh, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Prof. Saugata Roy, Aparajita Sarangi, Dr. Amar Singh, Tejasvi Surya, Anurag Singh Thakur, Balashouri Vallabhneni and Dharmendra Yadav are the members of the committee from Lok Sabha. From Rajya Sabha, Ashok Chavan, Shaktisinh Gohil, Dr. K. Laxman, Praful Patel, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, Tiruchi K Shiva and Sudhanshu Trivedi are the members of the committee from the ruling and opposition parties.
Announcement of heads of other committees
At the same time, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal will chair the Estimates Committee. Baijayant Panda will chair the Committee on Public Undertakings. The Public Accounts Committee, the Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) and the Estimates Committee are the major financial committees of Parliament, whose job is to keep an eye on the accounts of the government and the functioning of public undertakings.

Along with this, the Lok Sabha speaker has also appointed the chairpersons of many other important committees related to the House. Ganesh Singh has been appointed the chairman of the committee on welfare of other backward classes, Sanjay Jaiswal the chairman of the estimates committee, Baijayant Panda the chairman of the committee on public undertakings. Faggan Singh Kulaste has been appointed the chairman of the committee on welfare of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
